Therapeutic Yoga

Therapeutic Yoga involves a series of postures to facilitate opening in the myofascial layers of the body. Fascia is a layer of tight connective tissue that encapsulates the muscle. When the fascia layer is tight or stressed the whole muscle becomes constricted. When the fascia layer opens up, we can release and stretch the layers of muscles more effectively. This class is suitable for those suffering from either longstanding chronic pain or acute pain related to an injury or from a more organic source such as arthritis, fibromyalgia, scoliosis and so much more. Know that no matter your age, ability, athletic nature, state of injury, or illness, your body can change.

Therapeutic Yoga creates a deeply rejuvenating experience through the many postures that literally hold you as you let go. It is in this deep letting go that you can reach a sweet calm, a response that allows the innate intelligence of the body to restore balance and well -being. By moving into stillness through the layers of the body, you find at your core a sense of quiet connection: you return to your natural condition of ease and peace.
